LSD
Love Sex aur Dhoka...

Synopsis
The movie shows the stories of three couples, whose lives are intermingled.
The first story is about a final year college student who is a small town guy and he tries to make a creative movie and he falls in love with the lead actress Shruti.

Reality can be disturbing and “Love Sex Aur Dhokha “has too many disturbing realities .The film has three stories which has been shot like a homemade vides. You don’t find the cinematic excellence or beautiful locations in the movie. The movie shows the lives of few youngsters and danger of cameras around these people. The depiction and portrayal of the stories is more like a horror movie than a reality of life.

The first story of the movie is about a young college boy , who is making a movie and he falls in love with the leading actress of the movie .The youngster wants to marry the girl and he runs away with the girl. The girl informs her furious father, who agrees to the couple’s marriage but as the couple return, they are face scary unpredictable situations.

The second shocking sequence is about a tech savvy young man who wants to make a porn movie to earn some forty thousand to pay loans to his friends. He woos a not so beautiful sales girl to make a porn movie. The girl falls prey to his demands and then something happens at the shopping mall which shows the young man, that the salesgirl is a really a nice girl.

The third story is about Naina who does the couch act to get a role in a pop album but she does not get the role and she wants to commit suicide but she is saved by a journalist who is equally disturbed from his life incidents and he plans to redo the act to record it and to blackmail the pop star.

Overall, the movie has many surprises but nothing can be said of the cinematic quality, vision or direction. The lead actors are ok.

My Rating - 1.5 Out of 5 Stars....

Which system Of Education is Better

The basic and most important difference between the two educational systems is the stress on math that is given in India at the elementary and high school level itself. Mathematics, in my humble opinion, teaches students logical and rational thinking - it lays the foundation of independent and lateral thinking. Indian schools start teaching maths, like multiplication tables, at the elementary level itself. It is given a lot of importance and is a must for students who plan to do science related study in college.
On the other hand, high school in America is so flexible that a lot of students who end up majoring in sciences in college do not take advanced maths and calculus in high school. In general, At the end of their 1st year of university, math majors in the US are equivalent to high school graduates in India in terms of math study. This emphasis on maths in high schools and engineering programs is also the reason why India produces so many "good" software engineers. The analytical thinking taught by mathematics is exactly what is required for software development.

The flexibility of the American education system is its greatest strength and also its greatest weakness. Students can choose among a host of classes and courses in high school and college. This means they can change their major (i.e. field of study) midway through college. This usually means that students in the US receive more exposure to a variety of subjects and hence, are more aware of their career options and opportunities. However, the downside is that they can avoid taking courses which are hard in their major.

the general problem with the American education (high school and college) system is that it is designed so as not to reduce/hurt the self-esteem of any kid in class. So, the system is designed in such a way that nearly everyone can pass the high-school level. This leads to lowering the standards at the high school, which in turn leads to lowering the standards for college entrance too and subsequent college programs. So, college students in, say, computer science, are learning much less and at a much slower pace than the students in computer science programs in India and Europe. This is one of the main reasons why most of the graduate students in computer science in the US are foriegn students; American students are just not able to compete with the quality of foriegn student applicants. College education is becoming common place, with a large proportion of high school graduates opting for it. Universities are under pressure from state governments to take in more students, that is, in turn, leading to reduced quality and lower standards (quality*quantity=constant). Universities are just not able to cope with the quick increases and the corresponding lack of good faculty.

However, the flip side of the coin is that the Indian education and social systems are very hard on kids and completely ignore their feelings, opinions and ambitions. Kids are pushed to study from the age of 3 and non-performers are treated as dolts and ostracized by parents and society. The preferred choice of learning and teaching is memorizing facts. These facts do help in the long run; the multiplication tables we learned in elementary school keep us ahead of our American peers who need a calculator to find out what 6 times 7 is ! However, the memorization approach to study does not allow and teach kids to think independently. The American school system lays stress on individual ability development and encourages kids to express themselves and their opinions from an early age. As a result, most Americans are way better at getting their point across as compared to people from other countries.

However, again, the downside of this is that students in the US who are more out-spoken do well in class and outside class too only because they are more effective speakers. In the Indian system, individuals are not asked to stand up infront of the whole class and recite something. Instead, the whole class reads books out aloud together in unison. This allows more timid students to participate and overcome their fear of public speaking (since they are actually speaking with a group). Individual speaking is only done with the teacher one-on-one during "oral" examinations, where students are asked questions on the subject matter. Both systems work, however, in the Indian system, just because you can't speak well, does not mean you don't do well in class. But students in the US build more self-confidence and are much better at public speaking. Indian students on the other hand find it hard to learn to speak up or express their opinions (I know those are really broad generalizations). Classroom discussion and asking questions to the professors is encouraged. However, in India, professors expect you to treat them like God and often use their almost dictorial powers against students who upset them in some way.

Overall, the high school system in the US leaves students at a disadvantage when compared to their peers in India, Europe and perhaps the rest of Asia too. Some Americans cannot point out all the states in the United States on a map, let alone know anything about India.

Indian education is overall better atleast till the undergraduate degree (for engineering). However, graduate programs in the US are probably far ahead of most other countries due to the critical mass they have and the fact that they attract the best students and faculty from all over the world.

This brings me to some very interesting facts,
why students goto foreign countries to study ?

Well I believe that one of the reasons is the work exposure that you get along with the education in the field of Operations. But another reason that is rarely discussed is that they think if they will go and study from an XYZ university they will get better placement and social acceptance among their peers.

Do looks matter

This is a rarely discussed fact of life that is severely true in every aspect of life. Do looks matter ?
Be it in business, love, friendship, or any other venture. Today people are busy talking about personality when the sad fact is that if you do not look like America's Next Top Model or Mr. Perfect you are no-one in an imperfect world.

Every rule has an exception. Exception to this rule are the few motivational speakers and world leaders whose accomplishments have made an identity for them. But the sad fact remains, if you are or go anywhere today, people judge you not on your ideologies but,

1. The clothes you are wearing.
2. The overall load you are carrying.
3. Your tone of voice.
4. Your people skills.

The amusing thing is that even if you manage to get 2 out of 4 right you are rejected sometimes as your tone of voice is not clear and you are carrying a heavy load.
This is true in modern day organizations were cut-throat transactions are taking place every minute.

If we divert our attention towards love and other disasters, if you are not a rock-star, you might as well stop trying. Now some may argue that in my previous entry I favored people who were considered underdogs. I still do. But the fact is, underdogs rarely win.

Friendships today are not based on these rubbish idols. I disagree. Has anyone heard of the phase back-biting and gossiping ? Does anyone know where did it originate from ?
You guessed it. This is what happens when a person from the Mr. Perfect category befriends someone from the other category. Ego clashes take place, misunderstandings occur, and all other unmentionable problems.

I am not saying that we should follow a system where the perfect people befriend or have business and personal terms with the elite, and vice versa...

I am saying we know the problem...Lets find a solution...
Things such as looks, same personality matches are in our head...Lets clear the cloud...

As written and forwared...

This is a report written by a boy of class 10th. it is real and authentic. I do not usually paste forwards on my blog, but this time the text was so good I could not resist, please read the full history of India and give your comments, if you don't die laughing, guy really knows what he is talking about.

Absolutely delightful !!! Read attentively to enjoy full impact .........

A BRIEF HISTORY OF INDIA !

A Brief BUT Complete History of India : As written by a Std X schoolboy, with all the original spellings. Please pay special attention to the spellings and the "derived" nomenclature. If you dont know all this -- you are history!!!

The original inhabitants of ancient India were called Adidases, who lived in two cities called Hariappa and Mujhe-na-Darao. These cities had the best drain system in the world and so there was no brain drain from them.

Ancient India was full of myths which have been handed down from son to father. A myth is a female moth. A collection of myths is called mythology, which means stories with female caricatures. One myth says that people in olden times worshipped monkeys because they were our incestors.

In olden times there were two big families in India . One was called the Pandava and the other was called the Karova. They fought amongst themselves in a battle called Mahabharat, after which India came to be known as Mera Bharat Mahan.

In midevil times India was ruled by the Slave Dienasty. So named because they all died a nasty death. Then came the Tughlaqs who shifted their capital from Delhi because of its pollution. They were followed by the Mowglis.
The greatest Mowgli was Akbar because he extinguished himself on the battlefield of Panipat which is in Hurryana. But his son Jehangir was peace loving; he married one Hindu wife and kept 300 porcupines. Then came Shahajahan who had 14 sons. Family planning had not been invented at that time. He also built the Taj Mahal hotel for his wife who now sleeps there. The king sent all his sons away to distant parts of India because they started quarrelling. Dara Seiko was sent to UP, Shaikh Bhakhtiyar was sent to J & K, while Orangezip came to Bombay to fight Shivaji. However, after that they changed its name to Mumbai because Shivaji's sena did not like it. They also do not like New Delhi , so they are calling it Door Darshan.

After the Mowglis came Vasco the Gama. He was an exploder who was circumcising India with a 100 foot clipper. Then came the British. They brought with them many inventions such as cricket, tramtarts and steamed railways. They were followed by the French who brought in French fries, pizzazz and laundry. But Robert Clive drove them out when he deafened Duplex who was out membered since the British had the queen on their side.

Eventually, the British came to overrule India because there was too much diversity in our unity. The British overruled India for a long period. They were great expotents and impotents. They started expoting salt from India and impoting cloth. This was not liked by Mahatma Gandhi who wanted toproduce his own salt. This was called the swedish moment. During this moment, many people burnt their lion cloths in the street and refused to wear anything else. The British became very angry at this and stopped the production of Indian testiles.
In 1920, Mahatma Gandhi was married to one wife. Soon after he became the father of the nation. In 1942 he started the Quiet India moment, so named because the British were quietly lootaoing our country. In 1947, India became free and its people became freely loving. This increased our population. Its government became a limited mockery, which means people are allowed to take the law in their own hands with the help of the police. Our constipation is the best in the world because it says that no man can be hanged twice for the same crime. It also says you cannot be put in prison if you have not paid your taxis.

Another important thing about our constipation is that it can be changed. This is not possible with the British constipation because it is not written on paper. The Indian Parlemint consists of two houses which are called lower and higher. This is because one Mr Honest Abe said that two houses divided against itself cannot withstand.

So Pandit Nehru asked the British for freedom at midnight since the British were afraid of the dark. At midnight, on August 15, there was a tryst in Parlemint in which many participated by wearing khaki and hosting the flag.

Recently in India , there have been a large number of scams and a plaque. it can be dangerous because many people died of plaque in Surat . Scams are all over India . One of these was in Bihar where holy cows were not given anything to eat by their elected leader. The other scam was in Bofor which is a small town in Switzerland. In this, a lot of Indian money was given to buy a gun which can shoot a coot.

Presently India has a coalishun government made up of many parties, left, right and centre. It has started to library the economy. This means that there is now no need for a licence as the economy will be driven by itself. India is also trying to become an Asian tiger because its own tigers are being poached. Another important event this year was the Shark meeting at Malas Dive. At this place, shark leaders agreed to share their poverty, pollution and population.

The Net Gen....

People today are very much into a new drug. This drug is something they can't live without. Their livelihood is not important to them but it has become more important that they take this drug.

Still Clueless?

Its the Internet. People today live and strive on the net. They cannot go or live anywhere without it. It has become like a drug that has penetrated their roots and core. There are some lucky ones who have still not encountered this drug but the number increases day by day, minute by minute, second by second. Once I remembered people used to read the news papers to get the latest news.
Today, they get it directly from the blogs and social networking sites.

Data mining has increased to such an extent that we are working for sites like Facebook and Orkut.

How ? Some of you may ask.
The answer is simple, we upload our own pictures, tag them, tag our friends pictures, create groups, use applications that give these companies a direct and 24x7 insight on our behavior. They are employing us for free and we are happy to work for them.

Today we write blogs and millions of users follow them. We create a movement online. That is how Mr. Barack Obama was able to gather funds and defeat his competitors.

Location Based Service is the worst of it all. Today people are posting their pics of a site called twitter, telling the world where they are. This gives access to all robbers, companies, sellers to directly target the customers.
Ex: When we move to a particular sate don't we get promotional sms s' of that state's stores. Image that happening in real time when technology is at its max in India and people use social networking all the time.
We will get promotional messages just by telling people where we are.

I am not saying technology is a bad thing. Today it is shaping the world in a way and we do not even know it.

Zynga is a very good example. I know that almost all the people who are on FB except me use Zynga applications like Farming, Cafe, Mafia, Casino.... But have they ever thought of the reason they continuously keep using them. It is ALWAYS IMPROVING as per the needs of the users to get more users and it is slowly converting FB users into customers.

In conclusion,
I would like to say that the net gen is now not only changing but shaping our thoughts and ideas in a way that was earlier not even imaginable.

Exhaustion can be fun and rewarding...

Today, Proton Business School conducted an outbound training exercise for all the Spring 2010 intakes. What was the highlight of the experience that though everybody was exhausted, they kept on moving forward. Something was driving everyone to give it one more try, to win one more game, to contribute one more thing o the team.

It was amazing to notice this behavior from everyone present there. I observed that this was not because each exercise was a simulated game. Neither was this because each of the exercises was physically challenging at many levels.

It was because each task was doable if brains were applied to it rather than brawns. This every team failed to do in the first quarter of the day. By the time we realized it, we all changed our game plans.

We learned that if we have a team of 5 people, not every person will be strong, agile, brilliant, a good listener,

We have to help and make do with our team and not complain. We have to notice and eliminate their shortcomings by putting in our strengths as theirs.

If we formulate a plan we should stick to it if it is working. And should never deviate.

This does not mean deviating is bad. Bad plans can also be formulated sometimes.

When things are not going as per our plans, it is better that we adopt a new plan,
We stop, we think that what is it that we are doing wrongly... Because hurry will only form a worse plan than before.

We also learned that when we are able to perform once, we should not push it...
Doing so can harm us in dangerous ways...

In conclusion I would like to say that small small activities taught us a lot. To an ordinary eye we were playing outdoor games on a Wednesday...
To the management world, we had one of the best sessions of our life.

Do new MBA grads meet expectations of their first employers?

According to a study by Higher Education Forum (BEF) there are gaps that exist between the expectations of the employers and certain skills. The 'Skill Gap Survey' is conducted to systematically evaluate if there are gaps in the expectations and performance of newly hired MBAs in the Indian Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance sector.

"The Skills Gap Survey found that gaps do exist, particularly in skills such as listening, and team work and collaboration; attitudes such as self-motivation, self-discipline and commitment and dedication; and Knowledge such as understanding organisation and process; product, solutions, and services; and consumer behaviour.,"

"We are sure this report will add value to the education institutes and the corporates in learning about the skills gaps and finding solutions to bridge these gaps," said Dr A K Sengupta, Convener of HEF.

The survey found that industry has the highest expectations for newly hired MBAs in the area of attitudes, followed by skills, and finally by knowledge. The consensus view, as shared by one respondent, was clear: "We hire people for attitude and train them for the skills", Panchal said.

The industries expect new MBAs to come to the corporate world with the proper attitude. They must be committed, dedicated, self-disciplined, self-motivated, showing an aptitude and willingness to learn. They must possess strong analytical, listening, and communication skills, and they must be able to work in a team and collaborate.

"Finally, they must come in with at least a basic knowledge of the organisation and processes within the organisation, and an understanding of products, solutions, and services - including those of competitors - as well as consumer behaviour.

Also, the Skills Gap approach could be applied to other sectors in India to help other education institutes and industry in India better understand what corporations need and what education institutes are providing, and how any gaps that exist can be reduced," Narayanan said.

So remember People,

MBA is not a degree. The day we get into an MBA college we have to think that we have only 600 days until we go corporate. MBA is not just books. It is everything else and then some books.
If we think that 5 hours of our education at a college is tough, then we are headed for doom in the corporate world.
MBA for me is discipline and perfection in every task.

Did You Ever Notice ? ? ?

Today was Sunday...

This blogger went o Mr. Beans to have Sheesha or Hookah as you would like to call it.

Here are some of he things he observed:

11-3 is the dullest time of the day. These people offer special meals with Sheesha at that time.

They deal in cash. No cards accepted.

The stuff there is too expensive. But poeple order it as they are bored of just the Sheesha.

The parking is very huge and is priced high and 70% redeemable inside.

They check id of people who are buying, so no minors take Sheesha. Actually, they are mining data of all the rich society of Indore.

They have limited space so it is easy to maintain and seems full all the time.

They are selling stuff to customers like CCD and Barista.

What an observation....

The Gifted and the Learned

Today I noticed,
that people are being categorized into three categories,
The gifted, practicing and the learned.

The gifted people are people are are those people who already know how to converse in English. They are well versed in their articulation techniques.

The learned are people who know the language better than the former and their articulation is almost perfect.

The practicing are still practicing are still learning the fine art of speaking Correct English.

Now what i noticed and found strange and mind boggling at the same time was

Gifted :
1. Do not socialize much with people who are practicing.
2. Do not help them improve.
3. They do not offer negative feedbacks so the practicing individuals can improve.
4. They find a new topic for jokes in the misery of the practicing.

Learned :
1. Always socialize with the people who cannot speak in english correctly.
2. They are always helping.
3. They offer negative feedbacks.
4. they do not deriver pleasure in making fun of these people.

What a strange world we live in
Where the people to whom it naturally comes don't use it for the betterment of society, but the people who strive for perfection in it do.

Interrogation Techniques That Should Be Implemented

Today we live in a cruel cruel world. People do heinous things and pay dearly for them.

I believe in the slogan of HIPPO chips, "PYAAR BAATTE CHALO" and at the same time "THE TIME IS NOW"

Here are some of the interrogation techniques i think governments should really consider.

What if there was a danger room where the convicts were locked with people from the same religion sitting and playing cards and drinking and smoking and doing all fun stuff and then coming and going as they please. But they wouldn't talk to the convicts and act as though they didn't exist.
Say some sort of cold war.

What if the convicts were shown movies of the families that got hurt everyday and the loss they suffered.

What if they were offered the best food in their captivity an treated as political prisoners, however they would not be allowed to even associate with the guards.

What if everyday the convicts would be visited by a member of the family that lost someone.

These are the things we should do...

Today Humanity should be extended to such a large level that it wipes out Insanity
Our goal as the human race is to eliminate crime, not criminals...

FINALLY ! WEIGHT-LOSS TIPS

Before eating:

  • Switch off your phone, TV and computer.
  • Wash your hands (use a soap).
  • Serve yourself half of what you usually eat, on a nice, clean plate.
  • Preferably adopt the crosslegged posture or sit at your usual dining place.

    While eating:

  • Drink a glass of water.
  • Start eating (preferably with your hands) and eat slowly.
  • Chew your food slowly and deliberately.
  • Use the entire mouth and don't just chew from one side of your jaw.
  • While you still have food in your mouth don't pick up the food from your plate (keeping food ready in your hands or on your spoon means you are eating fast and will ultimately overeat.)
  • Eat with all your senses and think about how the food is nourishing you from within.
  • Now if you want to eat some more, serve yourself a second helping from the other half that's left. But don't eat it all.

    After eating:

  • Don't be in a rush to get up and get going. Stay where you are for a few minutes.
  • If you're clearing up yourself, pick up your plate and clean it with water before leaving it in the sink. (Food that dries up on the plate will sometimes stay on the plate even after washing, and can cause stomach discomfort at a later point.)

  • I have actually lost 8 kgs in the last month following these guidelines. They work.
    Try them out.

    The DATA Deluge

Today, I read an interesting article in the Economist about the Data Deluge...

We all know data. Deluge is basically the 'to fill quickly beyond capacity'

In 2005 mankind created around 150 exabytes of data.
Today, it has become 1200 exabytes

Now 1 exabyte is 100 billion GB

    Awesome right,

Today this data deluge is affecting every aspect of our life.
This increase has great capacity for good as long as we know when to put a stop to it and when to encourage it.

    I'll site some examples.

Today when we see the advertisement of x commodity on television, it always has a theme o it. That theme is a result of this data deluge.

Today some or almost all firms have switched to ERP from the normal books of accounts. Because the data is too much to maintain and analyse.

Using the data the credit card companies are able to identify the frauds that take place.

But there are bads to this DATA Deluge also,
    Ex: Identity Thefts :

Facebook and Orkut And Linkdn Accounts Hacked And Copied By People.

Disks Full of Social Security Data Has Gone Missing.

    Paypal Accounts are hacked.

But still, with all the negative impacts of data deluge...the positives keep on increasing everyday

Linking of the Police and Security Network (IBM)

Hospital And Healthcare Databases and Monitoring Systems

    etc...

An Insight on the Perils of College Life

We goto college expecting everything to be like a walk in the park.
What happens is somewhat like this...

If you are a "GEEK" thats the term used :

    1. People are more good looking than you.
    2. They completely space you out.
    3. They make their own groups on the very first day.
    4. They judge you by your outer cover.
    5. You become a teacher's pet not by choice but by default.
    6. The cool kids enjoy at your expense.
    7. You basically then form your own group of "GEEK" crowd and are left alone.
    8. People think of you as the anti-social

If you are cool or the "GOTO-GUY" in the college :

    1. You make enemies from the first day.
    2. Even if you are correct, in the teacher's book you are wrong.
    3. You have to always live up expectations and at times exceed them.
    4. You (not always) get involved in all the wrongs of life, juzz for the fun of it.
    5. People judge you by your outer also.
    6. You can't talk or act smart.
    7. You have to spend like anything to keep the party that is life going on.
    8. Everyone assumes that you know how to play the electric guitar and sing like Atif Aslam.
    9. If you don't have a girlfriend by the 3rd day you enter college, you are screwed. And she should be no less than Miss World Asia Pacific 2009.

I LOVE COLLEGE, WALKING THE FINE LIKE BETWEEN THE TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE. OBSERVING THEIR BEHAVIOR AND RESPONSE.

However, now I notice changing times...

The geeks are evolving. Because they have figured they have noting to lose.
